"I see how bad they are, and I think about how hard it must be for you to watch!"
"Nah. It's not that hard to watch. I mean, it's embarrassing and awkward sometimes. But I push through."
"You love them so much. They should play better for you."
You hear THAT boys? You have officially been shamed by my grandmother. You make her sad.
If that's not enough to make you better at baseball, I don't know what is.

Apparently it shamed them just enough to result in a no hitter!
For real! Timing simply does not get any better than THAT.

Just found your blog and am loving it (even though, as a Cardinals fan, I'm still not really over 1987). Thanks! I do feminist/Cardinal blogging at the site linked on my name---would be happy to exchange blogroll links! Hope your team picks it up soon. No, really. I mean it.
My grandma keeps asking me where Nick Punto is and why there are a bunch of baby-faced boys playing. She watches every game religiously. On mute (hates Dick & Bert). And she's angry about how poor these guys are playing.
She also asked me where the big man with all the tattoos went because at least he got people out sometimes.
Maybe my grandma and your grandma need to get together to shame them some more. The only thing she watches are the Twins and Wheel of Fortune. This is like a big deal. When Pat Sajack is the highlight of your day, we have problems.
Several months later- but totally just saw this. Your grandmother and my mother would be best friends.
